Description


Principle:
Based on the principle of selective photothermolysis, laser hair removal affects the entire hair structure, from the hair shaft to the follicle. Light energy with a specific wavelength of 808 nm is absorbed by endogenous chromospheric melanin, which leads to rapid heating and subsequent local thermal necrosis of the regenerative structures of the follicles.
To achieve permanent hair reduction, a laser system must be able to effectively treat all skin types while providing maximum skin protection. Lighter skin types are primarily treated with 755 nm (alexandrite) or 808 nm (diode laser), while darker skin types are primarily treated with 1064 nm, which is available on both diode and solid-state lasers. The laser wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, and spot size determine the effectiveness of the treatment and also affect the depth of penetration and speed of treatment.
